Why Meet With Your Advisor?

Each student is assigned an advisor when they start classes at EICC. An advisor can help when things get difficult in or outside of the classroom! You can find out who your advisor is by logging into your EICConnect account.

An advisor can:

Help you choose the right major.
Assist in scheduling courses for the next semester.
Provide professional and career advice.
Assist in reviewing, maintaining, and modifying an Academic Plan.
Clarify academic and institutional policies.
Assist in selecting transfer institutions.
Confirm what courses you need to graduate.
Connect you to resources for financial, personal, or academic support.
Share campus resources you should be benefiting from.
Help with time management, study skills, and test-taking strategies.
Help you determine if online courses are right for you.
Share ways to get involved on campus.
Assist with goal setting, personal growth, and career development.
Guide you in selecting an educational program.
Assist with academic or personal concerns.
Help you navigate the campus environment.
Assist with identifying and using campus and community resources.
Provide guidance on financial matters.

You should see your advisor anytime you are having trouble in class or have questions about the process. Ideally, students should connect with their advisors at least three times per semester: at the beginning, around mid-terms, and at the conclusion of the semester.

Directions to Contact Your Advisor in EICConnect

Log in to EICConnect, then go to Self-Service on the left-hand side under the Important Links section.
Select Student Planning.
Select Plan & Schedule.
Click on Advising.
Type your message and click Save Note.

Once your note is saved, your advisor will receive it and can respond through EICConnect.
